Kim Maiden was born and raised in Jamaica, NY. He started playing guitar in bands at the age of 12.  At such a young age he and his friends, 'the young cats', began listening to their parents jazz albums and had mastered playing songs like 'Mr. Magic' by the time they were 14. Shortly thereafter he began playing R&B, pop and many other genres of music across the New York metropolitan area.

Kim currently resides in Columbia, Maryland where he continues to play with musicians across the Washington DC metropolitan area. Some of his venues include the Blues Alley, Bethesda Jazz & Blues, Capital Jazz Festival at Merriwhether Post Pavilion, Ben's Chili Bowl, Eatonsville, Bus Boys & Poets, NABA, etc.

Kim has studied under local jazz greats such as Steve Abshire and Carl Filipiak... And continues to share his guitar with world.
